In 2024 I made a project with lego and turning wheels. The original project was from martin Schwab9. This summer when I made lots of projects with lego, I also gave this one an other try and found out that I could make it better.
Making
To make this project you wil need this lego bricks. Offcourse you can pick other colours of bricks you have allready.
| 1. Start with the ground, make 4 “walls” with the geek lego servo in the middle. Put the small connector and the small stick to the motor. This have to turn freely. 2. Put the 9 plates on the “walls”. 3. Put the special plate in the middle on top of the motor, the stick stands out in the middle. 4. Put the extra decorating blocks on the 9 circles. 5. For the middle cirlcle, you will need the special round block so the motor will turn this block. 6. Put all the 9 circles on the blocks with the special block, make sure all the small arrows point the same way. 7. See if you can turn it by hand, before you attache it to the motor. 8. Put the extra half circles to the project. 9. Code your micro:bit. | ![]() |
Coding the micro:bit
The coding of the micro:bit is not so difficult. Put ad the servo block in the makecode coding website. I mostly attach the motor to the P1 (the P0 is for the sound).
When you press A the motor is turning on 50%. When you press B the motor is turning the other side (-50%). With AB the motor stops. When you turn the micro:bit to the left the motor is turning on -20% and turning to the right the motor is turning 20%. With the logo up and down, the motor is going a bit faster.
Have fun with this project. This project is original made with and arduino, For me always the challenge to make it also with the micro:bit.
